Letter From the Editor : For the Lulz

Here’s the deal – April 1st has come and gone already. Sad, but true. But we here at NitWitty Magazine thought to ourselves, “why limit humor to just 1 day this month?”

A laughing monkey behind a microphone.Spring is in the air and a general joyfulness spreads like an infection throughout the countryside. Or maybe it’s because the cold darkness of the winter has finally passed, and everybody is looking forward to having a good time, have a few laughs. So with that in mind all this month we’re celebrating humor and what it means to be funny.

That’s right, this month we’re not just telling the joke, but (in true NitWitty fashion) we’re explaining it afterwards. That means we’re taking a wide track to the things in life that make people crack up. Look forward to our authors going down the rabbit hole into the mind of Tim Schafer with a review of Grim Fandango Remastered, and animated absurdity in the shape of Gintama. Later, somebody who has clearly lived under a rock since birth will see what Monty Python and the Holy Grail is all about; and if we can get enough alcohol involved somebody may take the stage, pee the pants, and try their hand at doing standup. All of that goodness, along with what is probably the worst trick we’ve ever played on people.

After all, if the best jokes are the ones that are unexpected, isn’t the best April Fool’s Prank the one that doesn’t actually happen on the 1st?

Stay tuned all month and we’ll find out.
